Sharper Consulting Services are working on behalf of our local authority client in Kent in their search of anEnvironmental Health Officer/Private Sector Housing Officer.

You willplay an integralrole inenforcement, grants, and energy efficiency initiativesacross the borough.


Duties

  • Investigate complaints, conductHHSRS inspections, and enforcehousing standards.
  • License and regulate HMOs, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • DeiverDisabed Facilities Grants (DFGs)and financial assistance to improve housing conditions.
  • Work with landlords, tenants, and partners totackle substandard housingandreduce empty homes.
  • Takeegal actionwhere necessary, including serving notices and prosecuting non-compliance.
  • Leadcaravan site icensingand enforceminimum energy efficiency standards.
  • Provide experthousing adviceand contribute to policy development.

About You

  • BSc/MSc in Environmental Health+HHSRS Certificate
  • Experience inhousing enforcement, HMO licensing, and grants processing
  • Strongcommunication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage abusy caseloadand work both independently & within a team
  • Full UK driving licenseand willingness to work flexibly, including occasionalout-of-hours duties
