Finance Director, Tunbridge Wells

£90,000 - £120,000pa plus car allowance, excellent bonus scheme, pension, package

Grafton Banks Finance Executive Search in Kent has been retained to recruit a Finance Director for a highly successful, expanding, c£500m turnover business services company in Tunbridge Wells. The successful candidate will need to be a fully qualified accountant, (current Financial Controller or Finance Director), with experience of working in a high-volume transactions business, managing lots of data. Reporting to the Owner, MD and Board you will take responsibility for all of the finances of the business.

This role is full time office based and requires someone technically strong, with first class financial control skills, who enjoys leading and developing teams. The role will own and deliver the financial control, statutory, and regulatory obligations of the business. If you are looking for a strategic or commercial role then this isn’t the one for you.

Overseeing a team of around five staff you will manage the following areas:

  • Responsibility for overall accounting function reporting directly to the business owner and to the board at regular meetings
  • Building bespoke reports for the owner on both a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Business forecasting alongside the Managing Director
  • Senior Accounting Officer responsibilities going forward
  • Group VAT and Corporation Tax responsibilities
  • Weekly cash reporting, cash flow management and profit and loss reporting
  • Treasury and cash management
  • Quarterly management accounts prepared in Excel
  • Quarterly consolidated accounts prepared in Excel
  • Reconciliation of intercompany transactions and balances on a regular basis
  • Payroll and VAT reconciliation
  • Oversee the personal tax return service provided by the company
  • Facilitation of year end information for the auditors

The business is looking for a highly organised and competent “head of finance” to account for high volumes of transactions on a weekly basis, manage the weekly cashflow projections, effectively manage and develop the finance team, however, also be willing to be hands on themselves and partner the board.
