Grafton Banks Finance is pleased to support an exciting education sector client based in Tunbridge Wells in their search for an Interim Finance Manager. This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who is available to start in late February or early March and is looking for a temporary position with potential for extension.

As the Interim Finance Manager, you will oversee a small finance team of 2-3 people, working closely with the Bursar to manage a range of financial activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing cash flow and banking operations
  • Financial forecasting and modelling
  • Preparing the annual budget
  • Overseeing credit control processes
  • Administering payroll, including pension and National Insurance contributions
  • Managing both sales and purchase ledger processes
  • Identifying and mitigating financial risks
  • Preparing and maintaining financial accounts, and assisting with external audits
  • Conducting cost analysis
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or possess equivalent experience
  • Have significant experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and strategic financial oversight
  • Have prior experience at the Finance Manager level
  • Experience in the education sector is desirable, but not essential
  • Ability to commit 5 days in office per week, no hybrid working
