Job Overview:

As a Financial Planner, you will provide expert financial advice to clients, helping them achieve their financial goals and ensuring their long-term financial security. You will be responsible for understanding clients’ financial needs, creating tailored financial plans, and recommending appropriate financial products. This role requires a deep understanding of financial regulations, investment options, and client management.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of clients’ financial circumstances, current provision, and future aims.
  • Identify clients’ financial objectives, risk tolerance, and current financial situation.

Financial Planning and Advice:

  • Create and present tailored financial plans that include savings, investments, insurance, tax strategies, and retirement planning.
  • Recommend suitable financial products based on clients’ needs and risk profile.
  • Provide clear, comprehensive, and unbiased financial advice in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review and revise financial plans in response to life or economic changes.

Compliance and Regulatory:

  • Ensure all financial planning and advice activities comply with relevant regulations, including FCA requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date with financial products, legislation, and industry trends.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all client interactions and advice given.

Business Development:

  • Identify opportunities for new client acquisition and business growth.
  • Network and build relationships with potential clients and referral partners.
  • Participate in seminars, workshops, and other professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with colleagues in the financial planning and advisory team to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Contribute to team objectives and support colleagues in achieving their targets.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent (e.g., CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, CISI Investment Advice Diploma).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in financial planning, advisory, or a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial products, including pensions, investments, insurance, tax, and estate planning.
  • Strong understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Financial Planner status or progress towards achieving it.
  • Experience with financial planning software and CRM systems.
  • Experience in niche areas such as inheritance tax planning, long-term care, or corporate financial planning.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
