Your experience working as a Legal Secretary, in either Residential or Commercial property, is highly sought after by our client. They are looking for a Real Estate Legal Secretary to join their busy team in Tunbridge Wells. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy providing excellent support to Solicitors and Legal Executives, please get in touch!

Key Responsibilities:

As a Legal Secretary, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the department. Your main duties will include:

  • Document Management: Typing legal documents from hand-written notes or transcribing digital dictation. Managing the flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the department.
  • Communication: Handling telephone inquiries, managing the Fee Earners’ diaries, and organising internal and external meetings. You'll also be responsible for scanning, emailing, and faxing correspondence.
  • File Management: Opening and closing files, ensuring all documents are properly filed.
  • Support: Providing assistance to other secretaries across the firm during times of urgent need or when workloads are light.

Specialist Skills:

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Word is essential. Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, and a Practice Management System will be advantageous.
  • Communication: Excellent telephone skills and a clear, professional writing style are required.
  • Attention to Detail: A well-organised, conscientious approach is crucial.

  • Confidentiality: An interest in legal matters with an understanding of the importance of discretion.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Pressure Management: Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines with effective time management and prioritisation.
