We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a prestigious Tier 1 Main Contractor based in Tunbridge Wells. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a strong quantity surveying background in the construction sector who is looking to take on a senior role.
The Role: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of multiple construction projects. You will lead a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire quantity surveying process for assigned projects, from initial cost estimates to final accounts.
- Manage and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support for effective project delivery.
- Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to project timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and project success.
- Manage procurement processes and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any financial issues that arise.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in managing teams and preferably delivering projects in the education sector.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities, with attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
