Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and finance? Have you got experience in sales and purchase ledger as well as making payments on a regular basis?

This employer, a leading distribution company, is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a growing business who have increased their employee numbers in the last year. You will be joining a social, friendly and evolving company and will have the opportunity to really add value to their finance team.

What you will be doing..

Maintaining supplier accounts, verifying, posting and reconciling supplier invoices.

Preparation of a weekly supplier payment run and setting up payments in the bank account and sending remittance advices to suppliers.

Reconciling and inputting all monthly company credit card statements to.

Daily tracking and reconciling bank statements.

Processing staff expenses on.

Administering and reconciling petty cash.

Processing weekly customer refunds and setting up payments

Processing customer remittance payments.

Monthly Credit control and dispatch customer statements from.

Preparation of monthly payroll for processing by a bureau and keep organised records.

Accurately Setting up salary payments and HMRC payments in the bank.

Post journals as required.

Maintaining and updating various financial spreadsheets.

Assist in the processing of monthly sales invoices using.

Assist with monthly VAT return and reconciliation.

Assist the Finance Manager with the monthly management reporting and year end processes.

Does this sound like you?

    • A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desirable but not essential
    • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications - they use XERO in this role however you do not need to have experience of this as full training is given
    • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practises.
    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
