Design and Technology Teacher Needed

Key Responsibilities for a Design and Technology Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in design and technology, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills
  • Teach a range of topics, including product design, engineering, CAD, electronics, materials science, and manufacturing techniques
  • Ensure students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in design
  • Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages creativity and independent thought
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support their development
  • Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and inclusive learning space
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technological advancements

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong knowledge and passion for design and technology, with the ability to teach both practical and theoretical content
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology at Key Stage 3 & 4 (KS3 & KS4), with the ability to adapt to different learning needs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to engage students and foster a love for design and innovation
  • A commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive classroom environment
  • Experience with CAD, engineering, and using technology in teaching is highly desirable
