Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:

  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons following the national curriculum.
  • Inspire and challenge students to develop a deep understanding of historical events and concepts.
  • Assess, track, and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Differentiate lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs.
  • Promote critical thinking, debate, and discussion in the classroom.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and share best practices.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching History at the secondary level (KS3-KS5 preferred).
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to make history relevant and engaging.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a love of history and independent thinking in students.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
