1:1 Teaching Assistant (Year 1)

Location: DE65
Position Type: Part-Time (Mornings Only)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 12:15 PM
Start Date: January 2025


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a delightful Year 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This rewarding role involves working closely with the child to provide tailored assistance, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive within the school environment. Main responsibilities supporting in access to learning and sensory breaks.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual support in line with the child's needs, including academic, social, and emotional guidance.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and adapt learning strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere to help the pupil feel secure and confident.
  • Assist with developing communication, independence, and engagement skills.

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN-focused role.
  • Understanding of ASD and strategies to support learning and behavior.
