We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is currently studying towards their ACA or ACCA qualification and has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice. The successful candidate will gain exposure to preparing accounts and tax returns, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:- Prepare financial accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Prepare and submit VAT, corporation, and personal tax returns.
- Advise and resolve queries for a portfolio of clients in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with client managers and Senior Accountants to manage client workloads and ensure deadlines are met.
- Mentor and manage the workload of junior team members.
- Maintain clients’ financial records using digital software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines for annual filings and tax submissions.
- Currently studying towards ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
- Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledgeable in accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Proven ability to prepare financial statements, tax returns, and VAT returns for manager review.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
