We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is currently studying towards their ACA or ACCA qualification and has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice. The successful candidate will gain exposure to preparing accounts and tax returns, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare financial accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Prepare and submit VAT, corporation, and personal tax returns.
  • Advise and resolve queries for a portfolio of clients in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with client managers and Senior Accountants to manage client workloads and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Mentor and manage the workload of junior team members.
  • Maintain clients’ financial records using digital software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines for annual filings and tax submissions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Currently studying towards ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledgeable in accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proven ability to prepare financial statements, tax returns, and VAT returns for manager review.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Client-focused with a proactive attitude.
