H&S / Facilities Manager

  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Salary: £39,000 - £43,000

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety / Facilities Manager to join our team on a temporary for a minimum of 12 months, potentially longer. This multifaceted role involves managing all health and safety concerns, overseeing facilities and building maintenance, and managing the reception area. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in aiding our exciting transition to new premises.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Schedule and lead Health & Safety Committee Meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking.
  • Stay updated on H&S laws and guidelines, proposing necessary policy changes.
  • Conduct annual H&S and Fire Risk Assessment Safety Audits, implementing recommendations.
  • Oversee H&S documentation and onboarding for new employees.
  • Manage fire safety requirements and maintain first aid supplies.
  • Issue and manage PPE stock levels and COSHH data sheets.
  • Work closely with Warehouse Managers to ensure safe working practices.
  • Oversee building management and reception area, working with the Facilities Coordinator and Receptionist.
  • Manage staff responsibilities for two direct reports, including performance reviews and team meetings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role
  • H&S qualification - NEBOSH or IOSH 
  • Experience in Facilities and Building Management is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Relevant degree or qualification in Health & Safety or related field is beneficial.
  • Experience in company relocation and negotiating SLAs is desirable.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
