We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Forklift Truck Operator at our client's brand-new warehouse. This role is integral to a growing warehouse team and involves operating forklifts and other machinery to move equipment and materials. The Forklift Truck Operator will report to the Warehouse Manager and must prioritise safety, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Hours

Normal working hours are 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

You will be expected to work some shifts (8am-4pm and 12pm-8pm), some weekends and additional hours during busy periods.?

Key Responsibilities:

Forklift Operations:

  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other machinery.
  • Load and unload equipment from trucks, storage racks, and other areas.
  • Follow safety guidelines and report any unsafe conditions immediately.

Inventory Management:

  • Move equipment and materials to designated storage locations.
  • Maintain records of materials moved and follow documentation processes.
  • Communicate with the Warehouse Manager and team members regarding equipment flow.
  • Perform inventory counts to ensure stock level accuracy.

Goods In:

  • Scan and store received goods accurately and tidily.
  • Arrange for the correct return of equipment to stock locations.

Goods Out:

  • Safely prepare stock and materials for driver collection.
  • Select and scan out required stock.
  • Complete associated paperwork and software updates.
  • Load and unload vans and trucks.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct stock takes as requested.
  • Maintain warehouse tidiness.
  • Comply with Health and Safety legislation and procedures, including reporting accidents
  • Act as Deputy Warehouse Manager when required and provide H&S inductions to guests/visitors.
  • Perform any other tasks necessary for the smooth running of the warehouse.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience operating forklifts and pallet trucks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently, including extended hours and some weekends.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • General warehouse inventory management experience.
