Adecco are seeking a dedicated Housing Benefit Overpayment Recovery Officer to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for recovering overpaid housing benefits from customers, private landlords, and social landlords.

  • Full Time - Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
  • £ 19.41 per hour PAYE / £25.10 per hour Umbrella - possible room for increase DOE

This role is mostly remote working, with the team working in the Twickenham office on a monthly/bi monthly basis for team meetings or other meetings as required. However, should you wish to work in the office more often then you are able to do so!

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of housing benefits is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in recovery / court recovery is required.
  • Strong customer service and written skills are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle and collect incoming post and documents, ensuring they reach the correct department.
  • Call customers to arrange agreed payments.
  • Use IT systems to print letters or documents for various services or customers.
  • Organize work onto spreadsheets.
  • Perform checks on the Department of Works and Pension system for debt recovery.
  • Maintain filing systems and databases.
  • Ensure services for both Councils are managed fairly and meet the required standards, as agreed annually by the Executives.
  • Advise and support managers on relevant service matters.
  • Contribute to performance reviews and improvement measures, ensuring a customer-focused approach and exploring innovative solutions for top-quality service.
  • Participate in change programs within the service.
  • Foster good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with internal and external stakeholders.
