Purpose of Role: As the Senior Alternative Provision Advisor, you will be the main point of contact for schools and council services regarding Alternative Provision (AP), medical provision, part-time timetables, flexi-schooling, and fixed-term exclusions. Your primary focus will be ensuring that all provisions comply with current legislation, sharing best practices, and monitoring the impact of these provisions on students.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure compliance with current legislation regarding Alternative Provision and related educational services.
- Monitor and track the volume and duration of pupils educated through Alternative Provision, ensuring legal standards and best practices are met.
- Act as the central point of contact for schools and other services (e.g., SEN teams) regarding alternative educational options.
- Share good practices with schools to ensure effective support for pupils needing alternative provision.
- Collaborate with schools to develop effective in-school or onsite settings as alternatives to exclusion.
- Implement KPIs linked to robust data collection and monitoring across all education phases.
- Regularly assess data to track progress, ensure consistency in provision, and identify areas for improvement.
- Work with schools and the SEN team to develop alternative strategies, including part-time timetables, flexi-schooling, and other personalized approaches to reduce the need for exclusion.

Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in education, SEN, or related fields.
