Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of the Design & Estimating department, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and maximum throughput. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead a team of design professionals and an estimating department, overseeing the design and quoting stages for projects. You will ensure that projects are processed and handed over within acceptable time frames while maintaining commercial information compliance.

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with other departments and clients to maintain strong relationships, ensuring that design solutions meet customer expectations. You'll also manage project costs and values at both the project and business unit levels. Ensuring adherence to processes and implementing improvements through KPIs and technology will be a key aspect of the Senior Quantity Surveyor role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of design and estimating professionals
  • Ensuring projects are processed efficiently and with attention to detail
  • Maintaining compliance with building regulations and contractual requirements
  • Liaising with clients to establish design solutions
  • Monitoring and improving processes within the department
  • Ensuring contract terms and commercial risks are appropriate
  • Supporting the Operations team with project details to overcome on-site challenges
  • Line management responsibilities, including appraisals, objective setting, and performance management

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record in the construction industry with knowledge of building regulations
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Team leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop staff
