Qualified Social Worker - Referral and Assessment

We are looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker within the Referral and Assessment service in the Social work Industry. Our client Achieving for Children has a well-structured and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels.

The role offers flexible working hours for working parents and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team within Wokingham Borough.

Main duties include:

  • Initial Assessments and Core Assessments
  • Section 47 Investigations
  • Contributing to the duty rota
  • Initiating care proceedings
  • Working in a multi-agency capacity to support families and children
  • Initial child protection reports conference reports

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification (degree or diploma).
  • Registered with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England).
  • Proven experience in a social work role, (preferably within Referral and Assessment but this is not essential)
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work practice.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To work as part of a team to provide information, advice and signposting to vulnerable adults and their careers.
  • To receive referrals for Adult Social Care Services, prioritizing and managing risk on a day-to-day basis. Managing a varied case load.
  • Make use of their professional specialism to determine eligibility for the provision of Community Care Services.
  • Where necessary, arrange interim adult Social Care Services, with an overarching role to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable residents and their carers.
  • Initiate Self Directed Support, so a planning amount can be set for a Personal Budget
  • Use a strengths-based approach to provide advice and signposting to other sources of support as required.
