About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Electrical Authorised Person (AP) to join their water treatment team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation, maintenance, and management of electrical systems, supporting projects, and guaranteeing compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Electrical Authorised Person, managing permits and ensuring compliance with electrical safety rules.
- Carry out electrical isolations, testing, and commissioning to ensure system safety and functionality.
- Maintain and manage HV/LV electrical distribution systems and associated equipment.
- Conduct risk assessments, prepare method statements, and ensure adherence to Health & Safety protocols.
- Lead planned maintenance activities to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Respond promptly to electrical system faults and emergencies, diagnosing and rectifying issues effectively.
- Support the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems in new and existing facilities.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and contractors, to deliver high-quality results.
- Ensure all documentation, including records of inspections and testing, is up to date and compliant.
- Provide technical advice and mentoring to junior team members.
What Our Client is Looking For
Essential:
- Authorised Person certification for HV/LV systems.
- Significant experience working with electrical systems in industrial environments, ideally within water treatment or a similar sector.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety rules, permits, and industry regulations.
- Experience with electrical distribution systems, including testing and commissioning.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and Health & Safety practices.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience in the water treatment industry or similar sectors.
- Familiarity with SCADA, PLCs, and control systems.
- Additional certifications, such as 18th Edition Wiring Regulations or COMPEX.
