Chargehand/Ganger - Godstone, Surrey - RH9 8BY

VGC Group are looking for experienced Chargehand/Ganger to start on a project in Godstone. This contract is available to start ASAP.

Location: Godstone

Hours: 10 hours

Contract: Full time

Experience: 2 years +

Chargehand/Ganger experience

Your role as a Chargehand/Ganger will be based in Godstone and will consist of:

  • Lead and supervise a team of construction workers.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and experience.
  • Ensure that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality.
  • Inspect completed work to verify compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Address any issues or deficiencies promptly to maintain quality.
  • Monitor the progress of work and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities, progress, and any incidents.
  • Complete and submit necessary reports and documentation as required.
  • Ensure that all workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

You will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
