Estimator

About the Role:

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for managing the pricing of interior construction projects, including suspended ceilings, drywall systems, glazed partitions, carpentry, and SFS. You will work closely with the project team to ensure accurate cost estimates and deliver competitive tenders, playing a key role in securing new projects and ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for interior construction projects, including suspended ceilings, drywall, glazed partitions, carpentry, and SFS systems.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop comprehensive cost plans.
• Measure quantities, evaluate materials, and determine labor costs for tender submissions.
• Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
• Assess project risks and ensure that estimates account for potential changes or challenges.
• Provide clear and concise tender reports, including break-downs of costings and recommendations.
• Liaise with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project requirements and timelines.
• Track costs during the project to ensure estimates remain within budget and update forecasts as required.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the interior construction industry, specifically with expertise in suspended ceilings, drywall, glazed partitions, carpentry, and/or SFS.
• Strong understanding of cost estimation, construction processes, and materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate estimates under tight deadlines.
• Experience with estimating software or relevant tools (e.g., Conquest, Estimating Software, or similar).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and projects simultaneously.
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or Construction (HND, degree, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
