We are looking for an experienced Steel Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join my client's team based in Uckfield and manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee everything from initial quotations to monitoring cash flow, managing change orders, and preparing profit & loss reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop tender and contract documents, including detailed bills of quantities.
  • Review, evaluate, and negotiate contract terms with stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis and implement cost control measures throughout project stages.
  • Issue purchase orders and oversee payment approvals for contractors.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project goals are met.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a focus on structural steel.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
  • Exceptional numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the field.
