Steel Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Full time permanent role

Mon - Fri 40 hours per week

Uckfield area based - Due to rural workplace location, your own transport is essential. Plenty of free parking on site for all staff.

Salary: £45000 - £65000 region per annum plus very good company benefits, which include an on-site canteen, company car, good pension scheme, company events, free on-site parking and profit share.

The role - Steel Estimator/ Quantity Surveyor

My client is seeking an experienced Steel Estimator/ Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes original quotations as well as monitoring contract cash flow, change orders and contract P&L reporting.

Responsibilities / duties:

Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities

Evaluate and negotiate contract terms

Conduct cost analysis and provide cost control throughout the project lifecycle

Raise Purchase orders and manage payment approvals to contractors

Assess and manage project risk

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors

Experience, skills and competencies required:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor

Strong knowledge of construction contracts and regulations

Excellent knowledge of structural steel

Excellent numerical and analytical skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
