Job Title: Scheme Project Manager
Location: Glasgow (with work across Scotland)
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client, a highly regarded Civil Engineering Contractor based in Glasgow, is seeking an experienced Scheme Project Manager to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering the Access for All programme, overseeing civil structural renewal projects across Scotland’s rail network.

As a Scheme Project Manager, you will be an integral part of the operational team, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards from design to completion. Working closely with an established team, you will contribute to maintaining the excellent reputation our client has built. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, supportive, and forward-thinking organisation, offering a solid platform to progress your career with a key industry player.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring Health & Safety compliance across all projects.

  • Providing strong leadership and guidance to site teams on live projects.

  • Coordinating projects to meet deadlines and client requirements.

  • Managing project development in line with approved plans and objectives.

  • Overseeing procurement schedules, productivity tracking, and monitoring performance.

  • Undertaking additional engineering duties as required.

  • Identifying and managing project risks, planning mitigation strategies.

  • Exploring and implementing Value Engineering opportunities through design and development.

  • Preparing formal project progress reports and other necessary documentation.

  • Managing sub-contractors effectively.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience at Project Manager, Senior Engineer, Sub Agent, or Site Manager level.

  • Strong background in civil engineering, ideally within rail, structural, or heavy civils.

  • HNC/HND qualification (minimum) or equivalent.

  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders, including clients and designers.
