The Role
We are looking for a Senior Designer to join our growing team. Initially based in Reading, UK, this role will provide a 6-9 month structured training program before permanently relocating to our new office in New York. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality design solutions, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities of a Senior Designer:
- Technical Design: Create detailed design works using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring seamless product integration.
- Project Coordination: Manage and issue design information and drawings, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Support and mentor junior designers and apprentices, providing training as required.
- Client & Site Engagement: Conduct site surveys, attend factory visits, and represent the company professionally at client meetings.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, legislation, and company quality policies.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with factory engineers and planners to enhance product delivery through manufacturing.
- Sustainability Focus: Contribute to reducing environmental impact by promoting reduce, re-use, and recycle principles.
About the Senior Designer:
- Experience: Strong background in technical and architectural design, ideally within the construction or manufacturing sector.
- Software Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
- Leadership: Capable of taking initiative, managing time efficiently, and leading a team.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to interpret architectural details, specifications, and compliance documentation effectively.
