A family owned business in Ulverston has partnered with Kenton Black Finance as they look to strengthen their finance team by appointing a new finance lead. With a current turnover in the region of £16m the business is firmly rooted in their market for 25+ years.

This is an autonomous role which provides input to strategic decision making, remaining hands on in the day-to-day running of the finance function.

A full time role is available, or a part time role can be considered for the successful candidate.

Your New Role as Financial Controller:

Reporting to the Director, this role sits as no.1 in finance with regular liaison and support from the external Accountant as required. Duties will include:

Leading a small team of transactional finance staff, responsible for their training and development
Ownership for all financial reporting, management accounts production, commentary and analysis
Preparation of budgets and forecasts
Review of AP and AR activities
Work closely with senior management to ensure effective decisions are made

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The successful candidate will be proven in a similar level role with strong leadership and staff management capabilities. Strong technical ability is required, as well as demonstrating good commercial acumen to support effective business decision making.
