Our client, a leading engineering firm in Cumbria, specializing in high-voltage sub-station protection and control equipment, is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer. As a market leader in Power System Protection solutions, our client offers a comprehensive range of essential engineering services and innovative manufactured products.
Job Summary: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical design of customer orders within a project team. Effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders, as well as coordinating engineering resources for timely and economical solutions, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret customer technical drawings and requirements.
- Produce manufacturing wiring diagrams from schematics.
- Create BOMs for procurement of all electrical sundries.
- Produce and issue necessary drawings for review, approval, and production.
- Coordinate with Lead Design Engineers and other Mechanical/Electrical Engineers.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, including project kick-offs and reviews.
- Conduct site surveys at customer sites while adhering to Health and Safety rules.
- Maintain or improve project budget by utilizing standard parts and designs.
- Engage in technical dialogue with clients, managing project queries, and actioning drawing submissions.
- Work within set procedures, guidelines, or specifications to produce necessary drawings for client review and approval.
- Identify and inform the Project Coordinator of additional technical scope (materials and labor) during the contract.
- Fulfill all technical contractual documentary requirements agreed with the client.
- Interface with the Factory to address Manufacturing and Test queries during the project build.
- Support the Tendering team with technical advice and assistance on client enquiries.
Qualifications & Skills:

Desirable:
- HNC level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
