I am excited to be recruiting on behalf of a very well established property management business based in Trafford. The business is well known and respected in the market and they are now looking to add an Assistant Financial Accountant to the team which with support the management/financial accounts team.

You will work on the retail and leisure side looking after your own division within their portfolio. You will assist at month end with responsibility for the preparation work that goes into the management accounts pack. The role will provide an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to develop their skillset and be exposed to a variety of tasks. Study support is included for CIMA/ACCA as they are looking for someone quite ambitious.

Salary and benefits:

30-35k DOE plus study support, 25 days holiday, pension, on-site parking. Other benefits are available on request.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
  • Assist with the annual budget preparation.
  • Monthly posting of journals, accruals, prepayments, accrued and deferred income.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of the P&L and variances.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of service charges.
  • Monitoring the bank accounts daily.
  • Reviewing P&L and suspense ledgers ensuring correct allocations.
  • Update the weekly cash flow
  • Prepare tax packs and quarterly VAT returns.
  • Preparing annual statutory accounts.
  • Bi-annual and annual audit support, gathering requested documentation and preparing packs.
  • Keeping on top of the emails inbox.
  • Any ad-hoc work as necessary.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Actively studying CIMA/ACCA and looking to qualify.
  • Experience in a similar role will be essential.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and good general aptitude for accounting systems
  • An appetite for further career development in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work on own initiative and manage own workload to strict deadlines
  • Strong communication and team working skills.
  • Driven individual with excellent attention to detail and strong organisation skills
