We are a well-known and established Lift Service, Installation and Repair company based in Manchester. Due to our ever-growing lift service portfolio, we are looking for a Lift Technician/Tester in the Manchester area.

Lift Technician Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the entire business
  • Assisting other engineers with technical issues
  • Liaising with manufacturers where necessary
  • Relaying technical information to key stakeholders in the business
  • Test lifts for modernisation projects & new installations
  • Provide technical support to the business
  • Attend & rectify breakdowns/faults
  • Generate detailed technical reports
  • Liaise with relevant site personnel to assess lift status & notify/communicate with affected parties • Ensure electrical safety of lifts
  • Commission lifts according to agreed specification parameters
  • Take measurements & complete necessary documentation
  • Record abnormalities for corrective action or inclusion in risk assessments
  • Conduct final inspection & sign off on documentation
  • Participate in meetings & work groups related to quality & technical issues
  • Responsible for lift well security & safety of all persons involved during commissioning/testing
  • Report lift condition to Project Manager & provide snagging list to fitter/supervisor
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, & test reports
  • Provide exceptional customer service & maintain positive relationships with clients


Key Requirements:

  • NVQ4 within Lift Engineering or equivalent
  • NVQ3 within Lift Engineering is an essential
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Excellent problem solving skills & attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently & as part of a team.
  • Exceptional customer service & communication skills
  • Experience as a Lift technician or tester role
