About the Role:
My client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled maintenance engineering manager To lead and manage a team of operational maintenance engineers to ensure that the plant consistently operates at the required level, through the effective planning and coordination of all onsite activity, in line with the KPI and financial expectations.
Ensure plant reliability by progressing your team members with relevant plant knowledge and maintaining critical spare parts. Working closely with senior Engineering members you will fulfil all of the supplier/customer requirements, and understand, evaluate and report on plant performance, proposing actions to be taken to address any constraints and improve performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- The safe and compliant fulfilment of all maintenance and operational activities in line with company policies, procedures and expectations.
- Effective and transparent KPI reporting to monitor and improve safety, quality and performance.
- Monitor the effectiveness and lead improvement on maintenance activity operations
- Support and develop the plant productivity and quality requirements with relevant leaders.
- Manage and plan effective planned maintenance schedules and resources required to maintain high availability.
- Support the relevant leaders in the optimisation of the day-to-day operational business with specific attention to QHSE, costs, maintenance, downtime and resource attrition.
- Define and train documented and standardised ways of working.
- Embed a customer focused continuous improvement culture within maintenance and production.
- Support the development of new technology/machinery by ideas or project implementation.
- Take ownership of ensuring the spare parts and critical asset availability of the plant.
- Provide support and cover for key members of the team.
- Audit and verify that the maintenance engineers are fulfilling their roles and responsibility and hold 121 formal feedback sessions will all team members.
- Support with the issue of permits, training and coordination of contractors on site.
- Contribute to the annual master plan and production strategy, supporting the overall business needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a engineering management, supervisor or team leader role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Must have a minimum NVQ Level 3 either Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
