A privately owned business in Raglan are recruiting for a Finance Manager on a permanent basis.

Working closely with the business owners, this is a critical appointment to provide insight into company performance and information that will directly influence commercial decisions.

Ultimately responsible for the entire finance function, this role has both operational and strategic duties.

Finance Manager duties

  • Preparation and reporting of monthly management accounts, including posting of journals, financial analysis and KPIs.
  • Daily bank reconciliation.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Ensure all reconciling items are dealt with on a timely basis.
  • Sales and purchase ledger management.
  • Preparation of supplier payments as required.
  • Credit control and debt management.
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Ensure HMRC compliance in reporting and documentation associated with payroll.
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors and bank as required.
  • Preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets as required.
  • Continuous improvement of systems and controls.

Finance Manager person specification

  • Demonstrable track record of working as an Accounts or Finance Manager with SME businesses.
  • Ideally AAT qualified.
  • Able to introduce new ways of working in a calm and sympathetic manner.
  • Takes accountability for own actions.
  • Open and transparent in all relationships.
  • Exhibits discretion and confidentiality in all situations.
