Vetro Education is seeking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant who specialises in supporting learners with EBD (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties), for a full time, fixed-term placement in a school in Monmouth. The school supports learners with SEMH, SEBD, EBD and challenging behaviour and Vetro Education is looking for a Teaching Assistant who is experienced in any of these fields.

The role: What you'll be doing as a Teaching Assistant

  • Supporting and supervising learners with SEMH, SEBD, EBD or Challenging Behaviour
  • Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
  • Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
  • Assist learners at break time with their lunch
  • Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies


The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Teaching Assistant

  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
