Manufacturing Engineer

Glascoed Based

43.54 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35

12 Month Contract initially.



This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based In Glascoed.

Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
* Ensuring operational capability.
* Long term reliability of supporting plant and equipment for the site.
* Compliance to national and international standards and legislation.
* Good background in process engineering and process optimisation with knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques.
* Carrying out Risk Assessments of manufacturing processes and equipment.
* Leading and/or managing process development projects.
* Project/risk management and the ability to use associated tools and techniques.

Experience required:
* Written communication skills.
* Ability to communicate and liaise with other teams.
* Understand business management framework.
* Lead and sign off work to meet business case applications.
* Good leadership and organisational skills.
* Good interpersonal skills required.
* Understand operational priorities and liaise with engineering and production management to prioritise tasks.
* Good communication skills.
* Required to liaise with, and operate within multifunctional teams
* Minimum HNC / HND in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
* Membership of Professional Engineering Institution.
* Demonstrable knowledge in manufacturing in a high hazard environment
* Experience of high hazard environments; familiar with HAZOP (Hazard And Operability Study), COMAH, DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations), PUWER, SIL (Safety Integrity Levels), MSER and other regulations and standards.
* IOSH Managing Safety / NEBOSH Certificate.
* Experience of Contactor Management.
Familiarity with the Life Cycle Management (LCM) process
