Position Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and organised individual for a varied administrative role within Children's Services. You will be part of a friendly and supportive business support team, assisting social work teams that engage directly with professionals, children, and families referred for child protection or safeguarding.

Key Details:

  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Location: Initially office-based in Usk (NP15 1GA) for the first four weeks for training, followed by a hybrid working model with 2-3 days in the office each week.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to social work teams, ensuring efficient operations within a fast-paced environment.
  • Handle incoming calls from professionals and families, demonstrating a professional and empathetic phone manner while maintaining composure in challenging situations.
  • Set up new laptops and mobile devices post-training, including configuring inboxes, shortcuts, and salutations, and validating data for accuracy.
  • Manage petty cash, conduct file viewings and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), and process child protection referrals within required deadlines.
  • Oversee general administrative tasks related to new referrals and ongoing cases, particularly within the Children with Disabilities team.
  • Monitor and manage shared inboxes, ensuring timely responses and support.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong administrative experience, particularly in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent IT skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and set up technology efficiently.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrating empathy while compartmentalising complex and sensitive casework.
  • A proactive approach to tasks and the capability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Training:Full and extensive training will be provided to support your development in this role.
