Monmouth PRU Teacher

Job Description:

Education Supply Pool are currently supporting Monmouthshire Pupil Referral Service (MPRS) to help recruit Teachers for their provisions in Chepstow, Abergavenny and MonmouthshiRe. Candidates would need a minimum of two years' experience working with children in school settings or preferably PRU (pupil referral unit).

Education Supply Pool are looking for someone who is an experienced, resilient, and passionate Teacher, dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children being troubled in education. We are looking for Teachers with genuine passion for helping those pupils who are disengaged and are vulnerable learners. (MPRS) have a few different roles and is tailored to the member of staff's experience via the head of service.

The candidate will be working with children that may have been excluded from school, they may be home tutored due to medical reasons, it could be that they have relocated and no place available in the local school.

There is a potential chance that the PRU Teacher could be needed to cover a unit in a high school, i.e. Monmouth Comp. Or it could be that they work at one of their other provisions listed above.

Schedule:

  • Day shift (08:30 - 16:00)
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

The successful candidate:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • 2 Years Experience with ALN on a 1:1 basis or in class or in a PRU Support setting.
  • Assist with preparing lessons in all areas of the school curriculum with consideration of varied levels of student abilities.
  • Provide simulating activities whilst ensuring hygiene and safety rules.
  • Be attentive to the unique needs of each student and be able to identify proper solutions when children encounter issues.
  • Great communication skills to collaborate with other teachers and families when needed.
  • Be willing to commute around Monmouthshire and its surrounding areas
