Role Overview:

As a Maintenance Engineer on the permanent late shift, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our heavy-duty manufacturing equipment. Your focus will be on minimizing downtime by quickly responding to breakdowns and performing scheduled maintenance. This role is crucial to ensuring that our machinery operates efficiently and safely, supporting smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineer:

  • Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on heavy manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure efficient running of machinery by identifying and rectifying faults in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain equipment according to health and safety regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and update systems accordingly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and suggest improvements for machine performance.

Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a heavy manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills (multi-skilled experience preferred).
  • Ability to work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial health and safety standards.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
