Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated Band 6 Mental Health Nurse with prison experience to join the team at HMP Dovegate, a high-security prison in the Midlands. This role offers the opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment, providing essential mental health support to prisoners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and treatment to prisoners.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group therapy sessions to support mental health recovery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care as necessary.
  • Ensure the safe and effective management of medications and interventions.
  • Participate in case reviews and contribute to discharge planning.

Key Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC pin.
  • Proven experience working within a prison setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to manage complex cases.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
