Description
The role of Transport Planner will involve:
- Working Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm and Friday 8:30am-4pm
- Producing an efficient transport plan to ensure timely deliveries.
- Optimising and monitoring costs by liaising with the third party logistics supplier.
- Monitoring vehicle movements.
- Managing POs and dealing with any issues.
- Keeping the system and trackers accurately updated.
- Occasional cover of sickness/absence in customer services.
- Managing orders on relevant customer portals.
- Liaising with the planning team to resolve an potential issues with orders.
Profile
A successful Transport Planner should have:
- Experience in a transport planning/coordinating role (over 12 months desirable).
- The ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in using IT systems (ideally SAP and Excel).
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A background in Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain.
