SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) - Full-Time (One-to-One Support)

Academics are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support to two pupil's, one in Year 2 and one in Year 1 at our lovely partnering school in Uttoxeter. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with a child on their educational journey, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential in a nurturing, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored, one-to-one support to a Year 2 and Year 1 pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Support the pupil in both classroom learning and social development, using strategies to aid engagement and progress.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure appropriate learning plans and resources are in place.
  • Offer encouragement, empathy, and consistency to help the pupil feel safe and valued in the school environment.
  • Observe the pupil's progress and report back to the teacher and SENCo, highlighting areas of improvement and any concerns.
  • Assist with behaviour management and create a positive, structured learning environment for the pupil.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience working with children, preferably with SEN, in a school or care setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching strategies and support needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop.
