Group Financial Controller

As the Group Financial Controller, you will be a key member of our Senior Management Team, collaborating closely with the CFO to deliver strategic financial insights and support that will drive the business forward. This role includes managing the financial operations across the group, ensuring strong financial performance, maintaining internal controls and compliance, and spearheading improvements in all finance areas.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage and oversee the finance function across the business, ensuring high standards of financial governance, control, and compliance.
- Lead the production of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and subsequent P&L calls with budget holders.
- Handle all bank-related activities and manage the Group’s cashflow forecasts, including liaising with stakeholders to request new investment capital.
- Lead the annual budget process across all Business Units
- Oversee compliance in all areas of tax, including VAT, Corporation Tax, CIS, and payroll taxes
- Collaborate with the CFO and the wider business to ensure a robust internal control framework is in place and develop an internal audit programme.
- Coordinate with external parties to produce year-end financial statements and assist with audit requests.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and delivery.
- Assist the CFO with ad-hoc project work as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant ACA, CA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or equivalent
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a similar industry.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing finance teams.
- Expertise in financial reporting, tax, and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to strategise and solve problems effectively.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
