In this post, you would maintain the integrity of the nominal ledgers and produce monthly consolidated management accounts and other financial information to strict deadlines. The role will also involve supervising junior staff members, assisting with investigations of budget variances, and providing advice to budget holders.

Qualified to degree level, you will be CCAB part qualified or finalist, with 3 years’ experience of management accounts in a corporate environment. You will possess strong numerical, analytical and communication skills. Excellent IT skills, together with experience of co-ordinating and monitoring project work are also essential requirements.

DUTIES

1. Supervise junior staff members.

2. Produce accurate and timely consolidated management accounts to agreed deadlines.

3. Assist the Finance Manager with the investigations of budget variances.

4. Complete debtors analysis and reconciliation between the Student Information System and financial system.

5. Complete balance sheet control accounts reconciliations including bank reconciliation, accruals and prepayments.

6. Maintain the nominal ledger coding structure and ensure that all transactions are correctly coded.

7. Prepare and post income recognition journals as part of the month end and year end process.

8. Follow month end procedure, post month end journals, update the schedules including energy, rates and refectory.

9. Liaise with the bankers for all routine banking matters.

10. Provide administrative support on the bank portal, virtual cards and credit cards applications.

11. Advise budget holders on routine accounting matters as required.

12. Complete subsidiary companies’ VAT returns.

13. Complete ONS monthly, quarterly and annually returns.

14. Assist the Finance Director and Finance Manager with the production of the consolidated year end accounts.

15. Assist the Finance Director and Finance Manager with cashflow forecasting and monitoring.

16. Reconcile and process incentive payments to employers.

17. Prepare subcontractors payments.

18. Liaise with internal and external auditors as and when required.

19. Any other duties as may be reasonably required.

20. At all times to ensure compliance financial regulations.
