We are working with a large company within the aerospace industry who is seeking a CAD Engineer in Denham.

Permanent role

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity where you will be responsible for producing and maintaining product definition information (PDI), including 3D models, product manufacturing information (PMI), as well as detailed and assembly engineering drawings that are commercially viable, suitable for manufacturing, and free from ambiguity.

What You'll Be Doing:
As a CAD Engineer, you will work within our Mechanical Engineering team. You will be responsible for producing and maintaining product definition information (PDI), including 3D models and product manufacturing information (PMI), along with detailed and assembly engineering drawings that are commercially viable and suitable for manufacture.
This will involve effective workload planning, generation of BOM structures, change management activities, tolerance and mass analysis, and supporting design development. You will also need to work effectively and communicate well with both internal and external customers to achieve the optimum design definition through consultation with all project stakeholders.
You will work across and incorporate a wide range of products, support and testing equipment, textiles, and technologies. These may include mechanical components (machined and fabricated), as well as electronic/electrical, pyrotechnics, mechanisms, and machines.
You'll also help customers listen to their needs and guide them in how they can best support their product.

Skills:

* 3D CAD software for model and part definition information generation.
* Material and process selection.
* Rudimentary hand calculation for initial part sizing.
* Tolerance and clearance analysis.
* Committed to the highest standards.
* Have an eye for detail and getting things right.



Education & Qualifications:

Engineering or applicable Science-based degree.

Engineering HND and relevant industry experience.
