Job Title: Scenic CarpenterPosition Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:The Scenic Carpenter will provide carpentry services and support to the workshop, creating and preparing scenic items for the Set and Staging division. This role involves hands-on carpentry tasks, such as covering scenic panels, framing, and maintaining workspaces, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality scenic items for events and productions.At Encore, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace where every individual feels a sense of belonging. Key Responsibilities:

  • Cover scenic flat panels and framing using a variety of materials, including leatherette and felt.
  • Handle complex scenic items such as curved panels, lecterns, and bespoke structures.
  • Apply basic carpentry skills for the preparation and assembly of scenic items.
  • Perform basic painting and finishing tasks to enhance the final product.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace.
  • Load and unload vans, trucks, and artic trucks as required.
  • Assist with any additional tasks assigned by the scenery management team.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Prior experience in a similar role, particularly in events, conferences, product launches, or award ceremonies is desirable but not essential.
  • Dedicated and organised, with the ability to meet daily targets.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic, with a strong desire to learn and advance.
  • Flexible and willing to work extra hours at short notice when needed.
  • Committed to producing high-quality work at a consistent pace.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure in a high-demand environment.
