Contract: Full time & permanent

Working Hours: 28.8 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Working days: 4 days per week. Days must include wednesdays and thursdays * 1 evening per week but flexible otherwise

JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for a Section Manager to manage our Teacher Training at our Uxbridge Campus, based in West London.

We are looking for an individual with previous experience in curriculum management, staff development, and teacher training. We are looking for someone who has taught for at least 3+ years after completing their teacher training.

The post of Section Manager Teacher Training involves considerable subject-based and pedagogic knowledge and understanding, and it is therefore essential that the post holder has a motivation for keeping themselves up-to-date with developments in their professional area, the Ofsted ITE, EIF Frameworks and Teaching and Learning.

All post holders are expected to consistently review and assess their performance alongside colleagues and engage in positive and critical debate on pedagogic issues. All staff must be committed to inclusive learning and ensuring that they adopt the very best practice to meet individual learner needs including the promotion of equality and diversity.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

· A degree or relevant professional qualification (essential)

· A recognised advanced teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (PGCE, DET or equivalent) (essential)

· Assessors awards A1/2 (Desirable)

· Verifier awards (V1) (Desirable)

· Good understanding and expertise in pedagogy

· Good knowledge of Ofsted ITE & EIF frameworks

· Up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in teaching and learning

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience of curriculum management (essential)

· Experience as an Advanced Teaching Practitioner

· Experience of Teacher Training and/or substantial experience of staff development

· Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience (essential)

· Good verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Excellent classroom and teaching practice

· Tutoring, mentoring and coaching skills

· Experience of team working

· Evidence of continuing professional development

· Available to work on Wednesday and Thursdays, and willing to teach 1 evening per week (essential)
