Switchboard Operator 

Pay - £13.79 per hour PAYE 

Location - UB9 (On site) 

Temp position estimated for 6 months + 

Part time 25 + hours per week 

We are looking for a dedicated and professional Switchboard Operator to join a local hospital! You must be enthusiastic and keen to learn in this fast-paced environment!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the hospital switchboard efficiently and courteously.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate departments and personnel.
  • Provide information to callers and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of calls and messages.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate must be flexible with the hours that they can work, sometimes nights and weekends may be required (5 week shift rota).  Sometimes more hours may be available to work due to staff absence, we need someone that can be flexible with what they can work!
  • You must be prepared to undergo NHS screening standards - this includes form completion, visiting one of our branches for ID check, past three years referencing etc.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • High level of customer service. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using switchboard systems and basic computer applications.
