The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Centre Technician to join a leading organization in Greater London. This role is ideal for a proactive and skilled professional seeking to contribute to the operation and maintenance of state-of-the-art data centre facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and critical systems within the data centre.
- Monitor and manage data centre infrastructure, including power systems, cooling units, and server rooms.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the continuous and reliable operation of all systems.
- Respond to and resolve system alarms and incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Support infrastructure upgrades and installations while adhering to safety and operational guidelines.
- Maintain detailed logs and records of maintenance activities and system performance.
- Collaborate with team members and contractors to deliver high-quality results.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data centre operations or a similar technical environment.
- Strong knowledge of critical systems, including HVAC, UPS, generators, and electrical distribution.
- Relevant certifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and BMS (Building Management Systems).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Flexible and adaptable with effective communication and teamwork skills.
