Teaching Assistant /Learning Assistant

Mainstream Secondary School

Uxbridge, Hillingdon

£85-£105 per day

(Full time, Term-time)

A mainstream secondary school located in Uxbridge are looking for a Teaching/ Learning assistant, who is able to work with children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. This school is a 'Good' rated secondary school, with many opportunities for progression. The successful candidate must have experience working with young people who require extra support and special educational needs. The school highly values the importance of academic knowledge and are wanting to recruit someone who shares this ethos.

You will be working alongside the teachers and other teaching assistants to support children in KS3- KS5 with academic progress, supporting/ mentoring them with university applications and careers decisions. There will be a focus to work with KS5 students who have SEN and low progress levels. You will need to support children's learning up to A level and be adaptable to the needs of individual children.

Key skills and experience needed:

  • Degree is an essential requirement - ideally in subjects such as psychology or core subjects such and English or Maths
  • Ideal to have experience working with special needs and learning difficulties
  • Contribute an enthusiastic and creative approach to learning.
  • Support with the delivery of the curriculum.
  • High levels of professionalism.
  • Current Enhanced DBS Check / 2 Satisfactory references.
