Your new company
Our client is a brand new Children's Residential service looking for a Home Manager. It is an exciting opportunity for someone to join and create something and share ideas and be part of the vision and ethos of the new home. This is a good opportunity for someone looking to make that step up to manager level, or someone who has previous management experience who would be looking for a new challenge.



Your new role



General Duties:

  • Management of Services: Oversee staff, care planning, safeguarding, communications, report writing, and quality compliance.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure adherence to statutory and organizational policies, providing feedback on their effectiveness.
  • Legal Compliance: Comply with various legal and regulatory requirements, including the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015.
  • Community Engagement: Develop relationships within the community to support outcomes for looked-after children.
  • Staff Development: Ensure staff have the necessary skills and qualifications, and lead the home in an inspiring manner.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Produce reports and evaluations as required, ensuring equality and diversity principles are embedded.


Specific Duties:



Service Delivery:

  • Embed the home's ethos and involve service users in daily operations.
  • Manage safeguarding, risk, and service governance.
  • Ensure access to health, education, and well-being services for children.
  • Monitor outcomes and progress, and embed social inclusion.


People Management:

  • Supervise staff, ensuring access to consultations and management supervision.
  • Recruit, coach, and support staff development.
  • Manage staffing structures, rotas, and team building.
  • Handle sickness absence and ensure staff are properly inducted.


Resource Management:

  • Maintain physical assets and ensure health and safety.
  • Manage budgets and ensure ICT policies are followed.
  • Coordinate administrative functions and evaluate performance.


Business Development:

  • Lead contract management and placements.
  • Develop services in line with agreements and identify growth opportunities.


Quality and Service Development:

  • Conduct quality monitoring and health & safety assessments.
  • Ensure risk assessment procedures are in place.
  • Manage complaints and demonstrate compliance with regulations.
  • Promote continuous service improvement and maintain readiness for Ofsted inspections


What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 3 years working with children, including 1 year at a senior level, with supervision or management experience.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of relevant regulations, child protection, safeguarding, and the needs of looked-after children.
