We are recruiting for a Design & Technology Technician to join a creative and innovative department at a leading school near Uxbridge. In this role, you will ensure that all tools, equipment, and materials are maintained, ready, and safe for use, providing practical support to both teachers and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tools, equipment, and materials to support the delivery of Design & Technology lessons.
  • Maintain a high standard of safety, ensuring all Health & Safety and COSHH regulations are followed.
  • Carry out regular safety checks on equipment and machinery.
  • Provide practical support to teaching staff and students during lessons, particularly with technical equipment.
  • Ensure the smooth running of lessons by keeping materials and tools organised and accessible.
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and manufacturing equipment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience in a similar Design & Technology Technician role or a relevant technical background.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures, with experience conducting risk assessments (COSHH knowledge is desirable).
  • Hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and machinery in a workshop environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both staff and students, providing a role model for young people.
  • Adaptable, resourceful, and able to work independently when required.
  • Basic IT skills and familiarity with industry-standard machinery are a plus.
