Assembly Operative - Pressure Testing

Our client is the world's leading manufacturer of ejection seats, helping to protect aircrew in the world's most advanced military aircraft. Our mission is simple - to save aircrew lives.

They are looking to hire an Assembly Operative to work in their Fitting Shop, undertaking a variety of processes including the assembly and inspection operations to produce and test cables, pipes, high pressure hoses and gun components as part of seat assembly that will contribute to the success of the ejector seats produced onsite, to ultimately save lives.

You will be working a day shift, hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 12 Midday on Fridays.

Main tasks:
* Run programmes that test high pressure hoses to required technical and quality standards in accordance with the process specification including in each batch of hoses produced testing of a sample to destruction.
* Set up programmes for new components in accordance with the parameters in the technical specification and quality standards Conduct Injection Moulding - mould tool set up, barrel configuration, material selection and preparation, programming and machine minding.
* Carry out inspections in accordance with quality standards and issue the appropriate certificates and stamps.

Characteristics & Skills
* Broad experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Basic manufacturing/engineering background.
* Background in H&S policies and procedures / QAI's and COSHH regulations.
* Team player with the ability to work independently.
* SAP experience
* Mechanical Apprenticeship desirable.
