About the Role as a Finance Project Manager:

This great opportunity is a fixed-term contract (1518 months) to support the systems transformation and process improvement projects within the company.

You will manage communication and relationships with key stakeholders, oversee project-related actions, and assist the Financial Controller (FC) in managing day-to-day departmental responsibilities.

Finance Project Manager Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Projects:

  • Support the FC with systems and process transformation projects (ERP, Payroll, Time and Attendance, workflow planning, etc.)
  • Implement and manage ledger reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data
  • Implement and manage month-end accounting schedules for audit pack submission
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register
  • Review and update SOP documents as needed
  • Support report building and KPI development and implementation

Financial Reporting:

  • Debt and WIP reporting
  • Maintain monthly billing and revenue recognition tracker (revenue leakage control)
  • Support the transformation of the chart of accounts structure for improved reporting and analysis
  • Assist the finance team with the annual audit process and ensure timely completion
  • Update customer contract P&Ls for FC review before finalising month-end accounts
  • Review and authorise supplier payments, expenses, and payroll via online banking; share responsibility for banking and credit card administration
Key Skills:
  • Project management experience systems and/or processes
  • Team management experience
  • Finance Ops / business partnering experience
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work with multi-functional teams and provide guidance to non-finance stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers, employees, and external partners
  • Self-starter with the ability to challenge the status quo
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office; ability to produce presentations, analyse data, and make recommendations
  • Flexible, hands-on approach with ownership of queries from start to finish
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proven record of responsiveness and innovation
  • Desired: Excel modelling skills and an understanding of payroll processes, cycles, and statutory requirements
Finance Project Manager Level of Qualification:
  • ACCA / ACA Finalist / Qualified Accountant, or QBE with 5+ years in a similar role
